In March 2004 I published a book about shirt numbers. Available in English and in Dutch. The book can be ordered at Nijhof & Lee International Booksellers.

A study about the history of the shirt of the Dutch national football team was carried out by Maaike Gotschal and Uli Schuster. They also developed new ideas for the design of the shirt. The results of the study are published on www.oranjehemden.nl.

The English Football Association proposed in 2003 to oblige teams with a striped shirt to display the shirt numbers on a plain panel. Supporters of Southampton (red-white) started a protest called 'Save Our Stripes'. And their protest was successful. So, the SOS-website was closed in the summer 2005.
