Summary | The FA prescribes one specified typeface to be used by teams playing in the Premier League. But in most kit regulations there are no prescriptions concerning the shapes of numbers. Sometimes teams choose quite weird numbers, as for instance Chelsea. For teams that also want to stand out by using weird numbers there are many alternatives. Some examples are the typefaces Party, Playbill, Davida and Goudy Text, as shown alongside. I don't want to stimulate the use of this kind of numbers —although Goudy Text offers some interesting clues. But it is almost impossible to make clear prescriptions —other than the FA rules— to prevent the use of weird numbers. | ||||||||
