Following the publication of 'Leporello' (2006) Sander Neijnens started an inquiry into the history of hos accordion, a Giulietti. This search let him to Castelfidardo, the city where in the last century, the accordion was developed from a simple squeezebox to a versatile and modern musical instrument.
Furthermore he discovered historic pictures en recordings and he corresponded with several American musicians who knew Julio Giulietti (1910-1996).

The book 'The Giulietti sound' was launched on Octobre 19, 2008 in Paradox, stage for contemporary music in Tilburg, the Netherlands. At the presentation there were two performances. The British accordionist Karen Street, who plays the Giulietti for thirty years, gave a solo concert. Furthermore some pieces were played on four accordions by members of the Demian Ensemble.

The book is published in Dutch as well as English. 96 pages, many photos and including a cd with Giulietti recordings from 1965 to 2005.
